In our previous race season ‘Carbon Zero Racing’ were able to demonstrate that you can be competitive without compromising reliability whilst racing on alternative fuels (E85 Bioethanol) especially against regular petrol powered cars. The team in its infancy went on to score two x 2nd places and were equal 5th out of 14 teams by the end of season. The Bioethanol powered cars were consistently competing at the front of the Grid regularly mixing it up with the Works Manufacturer backed teams in this ultra competitive high profile championship.
The then Title Sponsor received over 5hrs of identifiable and measurable brand exposure on the ITV network alone, plus over 250,000 web visits in the first 6 wks. In addition ITV produce 109 hours of live BTCC broadcast per season, in excess of 50 hours of radio broadcast coverage (53.98 million listeners), substantial column inches of local, national, international and motorsport press coverage. The cumulative global TV audience reach was in the region of 500million+. The Title Sponsor did report an increase on brand recognition plus an uplift in sales during the sponsorship, particularly in the tough economic trading times of late. The Title Sponsor also reported over £75,000 worth of additional PR in the pre-season build up, the ROI was a net 5.4:1 proving that the investment was justifiable and tangable.
